Spoon Carving
Learn to use traditional hand tools and carve a spoon out of green wood, while sat around the camp fire at the Steep Ravine's hidden Base Camp.
Our new outdoor session is perfect for anyone looking to master outdoor skills, offering an introduction to Green Woodworking. During the three hour session, you will learn a variety of techniques using a saw, axe and knife and, with the guidance of our instructor, will have carved a wooden spoon by the end of the session.
A great way to get outside regardless of the weather, the camp fire and woodland setting gives you a chance to escape to the forest, mastering carving techniques and enjoy the tranquility of Bluestone's ancient pines.
The essentials
The session takes place outside, and while there is a cover from the rain, but guests should being adequate clothing for the weather on the day.
Protective Measures: Toilets nearby for hand washing pre-session and advised at completion.
Physical Distancing: Social distancing will be controlled by the instructor and maintained during the session.
Limited-Contact Enhancements: Instructor led session with verbal communication from a distance.
Increased and Enhanced Cleaning: Touch points, equipment sanitised pre and post session. Hand sanitiser available on course. Guests asked if any prior flu like symptoms.
Enhanced Communication with Staff: All team members have been given new enhanced training to listen to any concerns you may have, we will take immediate action to place you at ease during the session. Face mask, visor, apron and gloves may be used for instructor if required.
