A first time guide to a holiday at Bluestone

Whether you have booked your first Bluestone holiday or are still deciding on when to come, here’s a quick guide to what you can expect during your break in Pembrokeshire.

We want you to experience as much Free Range Fun as possible while on the resort and be able to through yourself into the Bluestone experience as quickly as you can.

You’ll find acclimatising to life at Bluestone is relaxing and fun – discovering your lodge and exploring the little surprises the resort holds.

What To Expect From Your Break

On Arrival

Our arrivals team will be waiting for you at our ‘drive through’ check-in. You’ll just need your reservation number, name of the lead book and address. Once checked in you'll receive your Digital Welcome Pack with all the information you will need for your stay, as well as some handy tips.

You’ll need to display your car hanger at all times during your stay, so simply hook it over your rearview mirror. If you’ve arrived before your check-in time you are welcome to use the facilities until your lodge is ready. Simply leave your car in the car park and wander into the resort.

We minimise car use on the resort, so we ask that you drive to your accommodation to drop off your bags before heading back to the car park to leave your car and leisurely stroll back.

Check-in time for accommodation is either 3:00pm or 4.30pm depending on the break you’ve booked. If you’ve arrived before don’t worry – feel free to explore the resort while we prepare your lodge.

And don’t panic if you arrive late – our arrivals team is ready and waiting 24 hours a day.

Getting Started

You're invited to attend our welcome meetings hosted by our Guest Services Team, to discuss your itinerary for the week and to let you know about all the Free Range Fun happening across resort and in Pembrokeshire. Meetings are held on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and you will receive an SMS confirming the location of the meeting prior to your arrival. You can also check your digital welcome pack for details.

After your long journey, why not make the Blue Lagoon Water Park your first port of call? For advice on swim times and the Blue Lagoon admission process, check your Digital Welcome Pack.

Also included in your break is use of the magnificent Serendome - you might want to head here to release some pent-up energy from the car journey!

Our centre for play, The HIVE, also has free play areas ready for any little ones to jump straight into the fun!

If you need to stretch your legs after your journey, the resort Nature Trail offers plenty of soothing scenery for you to walk amongst and shake off those car journey cobwebs.

If you want to chill out before getting to the Free Range Fun and have brought some DVD's with you, now is a great time to pop into one of our Guest Service outlets to pick up a DVD player for some relaxing family time in the comfort of your lodge.

Or you could always head to Tŷ Coffi in the Village for a bite to eat, while you familiarise yourself with your surroundings and the children explore the Play Areas.

Getting Around

If you’ve booked bikes or a buggy for your stay, then you can collect them from 2:00pm on your arrival day. The team head home at 7:00pm so be sure to be there before then. It’s located just next to the Long Stay Car Park so you won’t have to go far.

There is Guest Transport available for getting around resort, with your Digital Welcome Pack providing all the timings and detail you need so you never miss a stop.

If you are planning on getting your step count up during your break then the resort is perfect for you, there are 500 acres to explore including trails and ancient woodland. Please be aware that the resort is on a hillside and can be challenging to walk around for some, please get in touch with the Reservations Team if you have any apprehension before arrival.

You’ll notice as our guest you get free access to our Bluestone WiFi service, you don’t need a password, so simply select it in your settings and start surfing the web for places that you might want to visit.

Activities

When it comes to booking activities for your stay, head to the Booking Office in the Village or the Serendome. You can also add extras via the Plan Your Stay section of the website. There are many, many activities to explore both indoors and out – far too many to list here so be sure to pick your favourites and book before your stay.

Food and Drink

Being Welsh, food is very important to us; hearty portions, homemade and local produce are all priorities and are traditions that we stick to at the resort. If you want to stock up the fridge when you arrive, head to Newton Stores in the village where you’ll find all you need for your stay.

If you are dining out then you have a choice of restaurants, the Oak Tree where you’ll find pizza and pasta dishes, and the Knights Tafarn for traditional pub grub.

Inside Serendome there is are a range of eating options, including a variety of flavours at the dedicated food court. If you fancy a taste of the renowned Farmhouse Grill, serving quality Welsh produce, call into the Booking Office to make your reservation.

Alternatively, you may grab a takeaway from our Kiosks in the Serendome, or have it delivered to your lodge – (Please see your Digital Welcome Pack for lodge delivery opening hours)

Checking-out

When it’s time to head back home, please remember that your check out time is 10:00am. You can collect your car before this and drive it to your accommodation to pack up your belongings and memories of your Bluestone break.

If you could pop your key cards and car hangers into the box by the last barrier then we would be very grateful, we can recycle them for future guests and, who knows, maybe you’ll be reunited on your next visit!

On departure day check-out time is strictly 10:00am. Late departures are unavailable and charges may be incurred should you leave your accommodation after 10:00am. Guests are welcome to stay at the resort until 3:00pm, so you don't have to head home straight away.

You can collect your car at any point in the morning before 10:00am and drive onto the resort to pack up your belongings.

The barrier is permanently raised from 5:00am, but if you need to leave earlier simply drive up towards the barrier and security will lift it for you.
