Great Easter escapes and family adventures in Spring
Activities that send you flying
After months of being cooped up over the winter months, like you, we’re ready to get outside, blow away the cobwebs and get our hearts-racing. If you’re desperate for some excitement then head straight to the Steep Ravine, our forest adventure area where you can soar, climb and conquer.
Feel free again by flying down a zip wire, with the ravine stretched out below and the treetops above. Or, try our High Ropes course, an assault course 50ft up in the sky. If you’d rather try something indoors, under Serendome’s roof you’ll find the SkyWalk and Star Catcher. Star Catcher is our tree climbing activity, that is as simple and fun as it sounds. You race to climb the tree, ring the bell, and then do it over again with the challenges slowly getting harder as you progress.
The Sky Walk is an amazing multi-level, bespoke aerial adventure course built over seven towers, and 24 climbing stations. In short, it’s a completely unique assault course that takes you over different levels as you navigate your own journey around the SkyWalk. A great choice for families, there’s also a mini version for younger children, so little legs can enjoy an easier, less challenging, but just as fun course.
SkyWalk Mini: Ages 3 to 8 (must be height 1 - 1.3m)
Grab a paddle, we’ll meet you on the lake
One thing we love most about Easter is the return of our lake activities and every year we can’t wait for the warmer months so we can get out on the water. There’s something calming about watersports and we love the feeling of forgetting everything else while we enjoy ourselves and it doesn’t matter how good you are, or how many times you fall in.
On our private Bluestone lake, you can try kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. Each group is taken out by an experienced instructor, who will make sure everyone enjoys themselves and no-one stays completely dry! Easy activities to pick up, both are suitable for older children (ages 8+).
Stand-up Paddleboarding: Ages 10+
Choose your weapon and release your stress
If you’re feeling stressed out, then we have the perfect release – good old-fashioned combat sports. At the Tournament Field, you can pick up a bow or an axe and learn the techniques that have been used for centuries. Perfect your aim and you might even hit the bullseye, if not there’s no need to worry, as it’s pretty fun whether you win or not, and definitely a great stress reliever.
There’s more action in the Woodland Warrior battle arena, our laser tag activity that takes place in the Steep Ravine. This is a great family activity for the older children (suitable for children ages 8+) as the lasers mean there’s no worry about getting hurt, it’s just about the battle.
Get back in touch with nature
Easter means springtime so expect the forest, meadows, and hedgerows around Bluestone to be bursting with life during your visit. Around the lake is a great place to spot some of the wildlife, with our friendly birds showing off their young with ducklings, moorhens, and little grebe chicks calling the banks home. You might also see rabbits playing in the evening time on the village green by the ruins of Newton Church.
The best place to see nature in full bloom, of course, is our woodland nature trail where you’ll find daffodils, primroses, and depending on when you visit in spring – beautiful bluebells. Like a magical carpet, they take over the floor of the ancient woodland bringing a delightful flush of colour. Venture further along our nature trails and you might find more flora and fauna. You don’t have to just explore on foot either. We have cycle routes through the woodland so you can explore at your own pace, and for families with little ones, there are bike-tagalongs and trailers available for when little legs get tired out.

Myths and Legends
This Easter you can enjoy our Myths and Legends festival, which celebrates everything about Pembrokeshire’s murky and spellbinding past.
Ancient battles, dastardly heroes, and tales from magical worlds, some of it's true, other bits are made up of myths and folklore that’s been handed down the generations, but all of it is magical and fills you with wonder and excitement.

Going wild in the woods
Let your children enjoy the freedom of Bluestone where they can stretch their legs and get back to having fun. We’ve got a range of great activities to impress all interests, from crafts to a soapbox derby, so it’s just finding that perfect fit for your little one.
Our picks for Easter are our outdoor Free Ranger activities – Outdoor Detectives and Nature Art. These activities are really all-encompassing, as they let children learn about nature, use their imagination, and have fun in the outdoors. Who doesn’t want to go on a bug hunt, or learn how to make a leaf crown?
Outdoor Detectives: Ages 3 to 7
